Welcome to Financial Freedom Trust

Financial Freedom Trust (FFT) offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL financial mentoring and budgeting advice to people experiencing financial difficulty or for those who are just wanting to manage their budget better.

Services we provide include:

 - One-on-One Financial Mentoring and Budgeting Sessions
 - Community Education  - Budgeting Seminars/Workshops
 - Money Mates Group Sessions 
 - Total Money Management (Special conditions apply)

Educating and empowering our clients to manage their finances independently is a primary objective of FFT and an important component of each of the above services.

One-on-One Budgeting
The service offered to each client is unique to that client's situation. It covers a range of services including the following:
- Making the person aware of where they are spending their money, preparing a simple budget and/or cash flow plan and pointing them in the right direction;
- Assisting people who are in more challenging situations such as having multiple and complex debt. This often involves negotiating a mutually acceptable payment plan with creditors.

- Assisting people facing crisis situations, such as receiving notices of demand from creditors or notices of disconnection from power companies.  
- In some situations, where appropriate, clients are assisted through a process of insolvency.        

Community Education - Budgeting Seminars /Workshops
FFT presents budgeting skills seminars/workshops to a wide range of community groups with a view to imparting budgeting skills and empowering them to make wise financial choices. Some of the groups to which these seminars/workshops have been presente
d include Work and Income clients, prison inmates, youth in work skills programmes, new migrants/refugees, young mothers of pre-schoolers, High School Year 13 classes and tertiary students.

Money Mates

Money Mates involves a series of group sessions where participants receive a workbook and engage in facilitated discussions. The aim is for participants to learn and enhance money management skills and build financial capability. 

Total Money Management (TMM)
TMM is offered to clients who are are unable to manage their own finances for various reasons including mental disabilities and brain injuries, addictions or some other crisis situation. The TMM service involves operating a trust account on behalf of the client to ensure all their financial commitments are met and the client has a suitable living allowance available. FFT works closely with banks, Work and Income, utility companies and other relevant organisations to ensure a high quality of service is provided for the client.
